i have been advised that glass carrig was the seat of the leinster rule circa 1170ad
this documentary evidence came through the conquest of ireland translated gerald of wales
glass carrig a small creek and promitory on the open coast of wexford about 12 miles south of arklow head
the same distance from ferns
the see of a bishop with his chapter
the city appears to have been also the principal seat of the native princes of leinster
dublin being in the hands of the ostmen or norwegian underkings so called of their own race who extended an independent jurisdiction
could you advise me if i am in the right parish
and how long the townland of glass carrig was the seat of the leinster rule

Hello William,
Is this the Glascarrig you require information about?
http://homepage.eircom.net/~tomredmond//history/glascarrig/
Hope the link is of some help to you.
Best regards Michael.

michael
it may be the right location as it seems dermott mcmurrough reigned here before 1175ad
and this is the time period i am interested previous to 1175ad and the leinster princes who gathered here
so maybe the sands of time have erased the documented history of the leinster princes gathering here
thanks again for the update
