Died 16 Sept 1876 Craigs Land, Lilybank Road, Dundee. She married a William Singers Oct 1851 in Dundee. How or when she or her family moved to Scotland we do not know. Helen Bain's parents were:  Peter Bain - occupation Crofter. He married a Mary McGillan.  Thats all we know. Thanks.

  • The name Bain is quite likely to be Behan the midland accent is familiar to me but I dont have Behan relations.

  • Yesterday I discovered that my relatives from Galway, who spelled their name BAIN when they came to the US, really had it spelled BAANE when they were in Ireland.  Not sure if this helps yuou, but you should check that spelling also.
