I have been able to locate relatives back to Athy Kildare.  I did not see Athy as a sub group-should I be looking at specific group other than the parent group of Kildare?

Thanks

  • HI sir athy is not listed as a civil parish thats why it is not listed on this website. It is actually  a catholic parish i will post you a link to the catholic parish and you mite be able to find it there good luck.

ROMAN CATHOLIC: Most Catholic records are held locally - One site which might be of use is -

http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/ - where you can ?browse? an overview of availablerecords per county. If you have any difficulty, you could try writing to the parish priest for possibleassistance.

  • St Michael's RC, Athy will do looks up for you.  There is a fee and you take your place in the queue (Book with list of requests) and they will respond.  I think the rate is 2/3 a week, it depends on how busy the office secretary is.  I cannot remember what I paid but I got a lot of information on my family - Kelly, Bert Athy.  Best Wishes with your search.
