I have been able to locate relatives back to Athy Kildare. I did not see Athy as a sub group-should I be looking at specific group other than the parent group of Kildare?
Thanks

HI sir athy is not listed as a civil parish thats why it is not listed on this website. It is actually a catholic parish i will post you a link to the catholic parish and you mite be able to find it there good luck.
ROMAN CATHOLIC: Most Catholic records are held locally - One site which might be of use is -
http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/ - where you can ?browse? an overview of availablerecords per county. If you have any difficulty, you could try writing to the parish priest for possibleassistance.

St Michael's RC, Athy will do looks up for you. There is a fee and you take your place in the queue (Book with list of requests) and they will respond. I think the rate is 2/3 a week, it depends on how busy the office secretary is. I cannot remember what I paid but I got a lot of information on my family - Kelly, Bert Athy. Best Wishes with your search.
