Interested to communicate with anyone who has researched Kilkea castle and the pre-1850 families that have lived, and worked there. If you have further details or know how to find more details on any given individual(s) and their residence or business workers, for that particular location. And not the obvious, often written about, individuals.
We wish we could give you a more precise time frame, but the reference we are following is rather vague for a general post.
Therefore, does anyone know who the local historian is for Kilkea castle, and particulary regards tracing certain individuals. We have contacted the Kildare town events coordinators, who have been most kind, but whose area of expertise may be in other topics.
Is there a genealogist historian student or volunteer who specializes in Kilkea castle (locally based or otherwise)? Is there anyone else who would be familiar with pre-1850 residents, and perhaps paid staff or community dwelling workers, and the sources that might support such considerations, via parishoners, newspapers, community writings, journalists, socialites, or village chatter regards those families and/or affiliated?
Thank you.

Hi,
Obviously there are several sites for Kildare history and such : http://www.kildare.ie/heritage/lewis-topographical-dictionary/kilkea.asp and http://www.oracleireland.com/lewis/kildare/p-castledermot.htm and http://www.kildareparish.ie/content/view/39/61/ .
As of yet, Ireland Reaching Out does not have an active administrator in the area. Therefore it might be worth while to try placing an add in the parish newsletter or local paper regarding your particular interests in Kilkea Castle. http://www.kildareparish.ie/content/view/30/48/ or http://www.mylocalnews.ie/kildare-16/news/
All the best.

Hi There,
David Daly is ?nim dom . I reside at Athy at present. I have an avid interest in Kilkea Castle and the llnks of the domain dating from Primordial times to the present.
I have considered setting a .org Web site but feel there's lots more facinating info. to be rediscovered about The Ancient Parish Domain. I am planning to reside in Kildea shortly and intend producing a comprenhsive study pertaining to the Residents, Tennants, Owners and Workers of Kildea Castle.
I have aompilied I would be delighted to act as administrator for this project. I regularly meet with the present care taker, Matt, ( His father was there before him !) We've been sharing his local knowledge and my internet et al. research and gleaning a lot of intriguing history.
Please fell free to contact me at any time : hibernianpheonix@gmail.com / 085 1620942
Best Regards
David Daly
