Does any one have any information or know where to look for a James Nowlan, b 1772 in Lyons, Ireland.  His father was a Patrick Nowlan and his mother maybe a Marie Mayen.  James Nowlan went to Belgium and married a lady in Brussells in 1807.  I do not know what he was doing in Belgium but he was called a right-hand man - some sort of aide perhaps?

Patrick Nowlan had died by 1807.

Many thanks

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

There are three Lyons in Ireland--in Co. Dublin, Co. Kildare and Co. Kilkenny. There are very few church records back to 1772 but www.irishgenealogy.ie does have Dublin city records back to the 1700s. I did locate a 1765 record for a James Nowland with father Patrick and mother mary. No idea if this is your ancestor but it is a lead.
