ANCestors of Leonard/McHugh

If you have a copy of the 1867 marriage certificate, then it should provide you with the couples' townlands (addresses) and their fathers? names and occupations. That information should help try and locate them and any family remaining in Ireland, eg via Griffiths Valuation and the 1901 census.

If you don?t have a copy of the marriage, it was registered in Naas 1867 volume 7, page 796. You can get a photocopy from GRO Roscommon for ?4. If you need guidance on how to do that, let me know.

Autumn:

Below is the Roots transcription of the 1867 marriage. They were married in Newbridge RC parish which is the RC parish to the southeast of Naas. The father's names are on the record so you don't need to contact the GRO. Looks like Margaret lived in the town of Newbridge and Michael in Kildare town.

I located the baptismal records for all four children. They were living in Athy town for all four. The last was for Bernard Michael born June 19, 1876 so the family left after that date.
