I found the 1910 civil birth index record for Frederick which I assume you have already. I looked for George with no success and I included variant surname spellings. Also no luck in the 1911 census. I assume they had left Ireland before March 31, 1911 which was the date of the census.

I don't have a current subscription with Ancestry, so I am unable to view the record just jet. However, I have been told from it that George Snr gave his address as 12 JamesTerrace Newbridge Co. Kildare, but there is no James Terrace coming up on the census? They also told me that Frederick was born 06/11/1910 and according to George Sr. army records he was posted at Aldershot, Hampshire, England on 20/10/1910 and again on 14/03/1912 and 17/02/1913.

So George Jnr could have been born in England?

I think it is likely that George was born in England. By the way, I checked the 1911 census for Newbridge and found a James Court, James Lane and James Street. I assume one of them was also the Terrace.

Hi Martin My husband's McFarlane Family lived in Liverpool and had connections to the Royal Artillery from the early 1800's. They were originally from Perthshire but after discharge from the Royal Artillery they moved to Wexford and from there Waterford and Liverpool. There were also Kent connections. Have you found anything out in the last couple of years? I would be interested to see if they marry up on my husband's tree somewhere. Cheers Debra Buchanan

Thanks for your message and interest. I still haven't found the birth of George Jnr or the 1911 Census of his family. Nor have I found what became of George Jnr. Since posting my original post here, I did order a couple death certificates in hope for clues but haven't really gotten anywhere further with this branch of my family.

Here are some more names connected to my McFarlanes if you can see if they are connected to your husband's tree.

George Richard McFarlane was the son of William McFarlane and Margaret Irwin. George had 2 brothers: John McFarlane and William McFarlane. George's son Frederick had a daughter with Betty Watson-Elizabeth A McFarlane born 1944 in Tonbridge Registration District, Kent.

I haven't looked into George's parents/siblings and ancestors since he married into my Murphy family of who I am related to. However, I hope these few McFarlane names are helpful to you and if they are connected to your husband's tree it will be great if you can please let me know.
