Hi
Have discovered the marriage certificate for my great Grandparents - Patrick CASEY and Mary Bridget POWEL. I had always thought they were from Co Kildare since that is where they lived during my Grandmother's life but lo and behold according to the 1901 census they were both born in Co SLIGO. that led me to discover their marriage license which records the following information. Sadly, no information was included as to address andor parent's names.
Date of Marriage: 12-May-1872
Parish / District: KILFREE & KILLARAGHT
County: Co. Sligo
?
Husband Patrick Casey?
Wife Bridget Powel?
Address:
?Denomination: Roman Catholic

?
Occupation:

Status:
If anyone has any information on either of these families, I surely would love to hear about it. Thanks

Mary:
I found the civil marriage index record for Patrick and bridget. it was recorded in the Boyle registration district which covers about 10 parishes in southeast Co. Sligo. The civil marriage record will show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where the bride and groom were living in 1872. You can get a copy of the record for around 4 euros from the General Register Office. If you are interested, let me know and I will explain the process.

sorry i am having bad internet connection problems. trying to attach again, it is a docx file.
I believe this is th civil register and the areas requesting the parents info, residence, etc. are blank. Do you think the copy from the GRO would have those areas filled in? I have ordered other docs from the GRO so have the forms to request it -- just didn't want to pay twice for the same blank info.
thanks

Mary:
The record you sent is the Church record from Roots Ireland. The civil marriage record from the GRO should show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where they were living in 1872.
