Hello All, I have details on Joseph Price who was born about 1836 Castlecomer , record states parish was Coolcullen?

he became a Gardener and then joined the Kilkenny Fusiliers 1st march 1855. then the 88th and 90th foot.On his Marriage cirt it states his Father was William Price who appears to have also been in the army and was born in Clonmel Tipperary Ireland.Cerca 1790. I have Joseph's army records.

Joseph Married in London 1872 to a Fanny Cannings in a Catholic Ceremony so I think he may have converted. He had a long army life and at one point was at the relief of Lucknow in 1875. I think his mother was named Rebbecca but have no futher details.

Any details on Him or his father would be greatfully recived ,

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Coolcullen is a townland in Mothell civil parish which is a little southeast of Castlecomer civil parish. I searched Roots Ireland and found a September 1st 1835 baptismal record for Joseph in the Mothel Church of Ireland records. See transcription below. I did not find any sibling baptismal records in Mothel.

If the record you located was from the Griffiths Valuation it is likely not your Joseph. Someone who was age 15 would not be leasing land and therefore show up in the Griffiths.
