  • Hi

    Thank you for your message.

Do you know much about their emigration? The dates, the reason why they left, who they may have travelled with?..etc..Generally more information was given at the port of arrival rather than the port of departure. If you knew which city they arrived at (e.g. Liverpool, New York, etc.), this could be a good place to find more information.

Some sites which might be helpful to you are:

  • Hi.  I have all their information from Canada except when they arrived.  I am looking for any information about their moms and dads and exactly when they were born (if I can find it!).

  • Good afternoon.  I am Mike O'Shea and Robert and Margaret are in my family line per DNA matches through Robert's father and mother Robert Shore 1760-1837 and Judith Flewellin 1763-1851, both parents died in Albion, Peel Co., Ontario, Canada.  Robert and Margaret lived in Peel Co., Canada West where they raised 12 children.  I don't have a date for their immigration to Canada, but their eldest child, John was born 12 Jul 1826 in Lachine, Roussillon, Quebec, Canada.  By 1830 when their second son Arthur was born, they were situated in Peel Co., Ontario, Canada - Home District.

My great-great grandmother Elizabeth Shore was your Robert's sister, and she was married to Henry Power Shee in Castlecomer and lived in Coolbaun Townland where my Great Grandfather Henry O'Shea/Shee was born.

There were two sets of Shore Families who immigrated about the same time in 1817  the other family settled in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.  That Jane Shore was the daughter of William Shore and Ann Willoughby and she was married to Robert Bradley who was also from the Castlecomer area.   William and Ann had at least 4 children that I know of.  Both sets of Shore Families were related, but I'm not sure just how.  There were intermarriages in Canada between the two lines and there appears to have been a great deal of communication between them.

If you would like more detailed information of both of these family lines, although it appears you may have all of the Canadian information but, please contact me at mikes41site@gmail.com and send me your email add and I will send you a friends request to visit my Ancestry sites for both sets of families.

    Mike
