Looking for info on Michael Doolan's family - believed to be born in Castlecomer, Kilkenny, Ireland 1st October 1868 to parents Daniel Doolan (guessing his birth date around 1843) and Margaret Brennan (guessing her birth date around 1846). Have no other information at all about family history in Ireland. Michael believed to have migrated to Australia around 1890 and married an Australian girl Margaret Eliza Louisa Black in 1892 in Goulburn, New South Wales. Michael changes his name to William and stays under the radar all his life until his death in 1941 in Melbourne, Victoria.
Did Michael's parents go to Australia with him and what ship did they travel on and when. Michael had one brother Thomas born 1866. Can you tell me anything about him.
Would gratefully appreciate any info at all. Cannot find any Irish info.

As you can see from the link below, Castlecomer is a Civil Parish in Co. Kilkenny:
Records for the corresponding Roman Catholic Parishes of Castlecomer begin in 1812 and Clough begin in 1832. There are some gaps in Castlecomer records, notably between 1818 and 1828. There are some places where you can search online, however these websites do not have complete collections and many do not cover the period after 1900. As some of your ancestors were born, you believe, after 1864 when civil registration began in Ireland (generally speaking), you should be able to trace back a further generation.:
www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some church records for Ireland.
www.rootsireland.ie have a large collection of Irish Church records, however you have to pay to use this site.
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/ have begun a project to upload Irish church records to their site free of charge. However, so far only Counties Dublin, Kerry, Carlow and parts of Cork have been covered.
