MY GT GT GRANDFATHER WAS BORN IN STONEYFORD IN 1836.HIS NAME WAS THOMAS ROGERS.HIS FATHER WAS WILLIAM ROGERS.THOMAS LEFT STONEYFORD IN 1854 WHEN HE JOINED THE SOMERSET LIGHT INFANTRY AT CLONMEL , HE WAS THEN 17.HE WENT TO THE CRIMEA AND THE INDIAN MUTINY AND SPENT OVER 20 YEARS IN THE ARMY BEFORE RETIRING DUE TO ILL HEALTH IN 1874.HE WAS MARRIED TO ELLEN SHEEHAN IN 1863 AT FERMOY IN COUNTY CORK.I GOT THOMAS'S FATHERS NAME FROM THE MARRIAGE RECORD ON FAMILYSEARCH.ORG BUT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF WILLIAM WAS ALSO BORN IN STONEYFORD OR JUST THOMAS?.

It may be difficult to find a birth record confirming William?s parish of birth due to the fact that his year of birth may be quite early and not all parish records go back that early.
