I am looking for info on Philip Sullivan B 1814. Philip was the son of Phillip Sullivan and Catherine Connor of Killarney, County Kerry. Phillip Emigrated to New Brunswick Canada in 1835 I believe at the time he was married and had a son James born 1834. Once Phillip arrived in Canada I can not find any info on his wife the mother of James. I would think that maybe she passed in Ireland or on the trip over the Canada. Phillip in 1836 married Mary Millen in Fredericton New Brunswick.

So the mystery is who is James Sullivan's mother and what happened to her. I know that James father Philip was living in Teernabaul at the time of James birth. I do not have any records of James in Ireland however I do have him arriving in New Brunswick in 1835 with his father. I sure hope that someone will be able to help with this.

Thanks to all

Pat

  • Pat:

I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and there are no James Sullivan baptismal records with father Philip anywhere in Co. Kerry around 1834. You indicate that Philip was living in Teernaboul at the time of James' birth with points to Killarney RC parish but no record shows up. There are nearby RC parishes which do not have records back to 1834 so possibly that would explain not finding a record.
