Hi Rosslyn!
I am also interested in the Fennellys! I can not locate much Irish info on my ancestors but suspected Kilkenny.
In my tree, I have Joseph, John and Thomad +++ I would love it if you could share any info you can find.
I also visited Kilkenny but a different Catholic Church. I will share what I can next time in ancestry. My tree is under Maureen Clary.
Good luck!

Hello everyone! I am not sure if this is correct but do I reply to all on this message ?? Sorry I cant see a reply option to each person......... so here goes
Thank you all!! I know he was born in St Patrick - not baptised - I have his original army papers and it clearly states born St Patrick - I appreciate this may have been where his Grandmother lived - who knows? I also know the Hampton tree which is indeed a relation ........ but we have hit the same wall ......... when Thomas 1835 married he stated his father was Thomas - a fireman although what type of fireman I dont know? Stoker - trains - salt production or putting out fires? I dont even know if he ever moved to England too ....... but as Thomas 1835 was born Kilkenny I am guessing he was there too at some stage!
Maureen - thanks too - do get in touch and I will check your tree out if I can on Ancestry - is it a Fennelly tree?? Gosh Thomas Joseph and John! My Grandfather William Joseph - Thomas (2) and John Alan (my Uncle) - you never know!
Thank you all and of course Jane whom I hope to meet soon! Its all very exciting and after 9 years of ancestry I may find my Irish roots - wonderful! regards Rosslyn

Hi Rosslyn.
Do you know your GG Thomas' children and order born. I couldn't find any record of a Thomas Fennelly in St Patrick's between 1790 and 1870.

Hello, thank you for looking, GG Thomas (soldier 1835 -1910) died Chilton near Middlesborough married late in life and had 3 sons all in Hull or Middlesborough - Thomas - William Joseph (grandad) and Thomas A (I know 2 Thomas at one time) His marriage cert states his Father GGG Thomas wa a Fireman - thats all I know. I assume he was in Kilkenny and area around 1835 but thats all the info I have. Just because GG Thomas was born Kilkenny St Patrick (stated on his army papers) I presume they did not have to reside there? Maybe his Mothers family livd there .... Thank you very much for your interest. Rosslyn
