According to her baptism certificate, my grandmother Catherine Armstrong was born in Tullyskeherney c1856. Her father was Simon Armstrong born c1825 and mother Jane .I think Simon's father was Robert. It seems that the name Simon Armstrong was mentioned in high places around that time from the records I have found. Was that Simon her father? I know that she came from a wealthy family and I can remember a picture of a very grand manor house in my aunty Ruby's home in the 1950s.The name Blackrock springs to mind. My father said that they came from Ireland but they were Scottish. Love to hear from any relations, or info about Simon or Scottish connection.
