Searching for John L. Dougherty and Cathern Love? Dougherty - name may have originally been Daugherty and possibly changed in America to Dougherty. - John born 1817 and Catherine 1828. 

Found an ship arrival document that indicates a John L. Daugherty arrived July 13, 1849  - Departure from Londonderry. Ship name Venilia. Port of Arrival: Philadelphia.  Settled in central Pennsylvania, ultimately Altoona, Pennsylvania. 

Death notice said he was from County Leitrim, Drumharkan (3 mi. from Ballamore says the notice), parish of Fenagh.

Children born in America: Joseph, Jennie, Johnnie, Anna (Annie), Mary Jane, Isabella, Katie, Maggie, David, William, Robert (who may have been named after Irish family).
