I am trying to look for more information on my great great grandparents. I have recently tracked down my great grandfather to Drumkeeran, Co. Leitrim. I am now hoping to find out more about his parents and any other possible siblings. Here is the information that I currently have:
Great Great Grandfather: John Flynn - born about 1835 - parents unknown - died before 1889
Great Great Grandmother - Bridget Doherty (seen spelled Docherty also) - born about 1837 - parents unknown - died between 1889 & 1899
marriage of Great Great Grandparents - possibly April 26, 1862 in Kiltubbrid, Co. Leitrim, Ireland (only one I could find on record in Co. Leitrim for a John Flynn & Bridget Doherty)
Great Grandfather - John Flynn - born about 1869 in Drumkeeran, Co. Leitrim, Ireland - parents John Flynn & Bridget Doherty - died about 1912 in Manhattan, New York, US - emigrated to Scotland prior to 1889 - Married first wife Mary Eliza Cowan 1889 in Scotland (according to marriage records his father was deceased & mother was living) - Married 2nd wife Mary Reynolds in 1899 in Scotland (according to marriage records both parents were deceased) - emigrated to US (deserting wife & kids in Scotland) in 1909
Great Great Uncle - Owen Flynn - born Nov 1859 (per US census records) in Drumkeeran, Co. Leitrim - parents John Flynn & ? - died between 1930 & 1940 in Manhattan, New York, US - emigrated to US from Ireland in 1883
Great Great Aunt - Ann Flynn - born May 1865 (per US census records) in Drumkeeran, Co. Leitrim - parents John Flynn & Bridget Doherty - married Patrick Devitt - died 13 Feb 1914 in Manhattan, New York - emigrated to us in 1883 (per census records. I don't believe that date to be accurate though)
I know that Owen Flynn & Ann Flynn Devitt were definitely my great grandfather's siblings as they were listed on his immigration records through Ellis Island. Plus they were listed in my great grandparent's divorce records. My great grandmother divorced my great grandfather on grounds of desertion.

Norma:
A few comments. I checked Roots Ireland and they do not have records for Inishmagrath parish from 1840-1880. Not sure if the parish church has these records. ( The Mormon Church did not film their records)
I don't think the marriage record you found in 1862 is the correct record. Kiltubbrid parish is good distance away from Inishmagrath.
I looked at the 1857 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing and there were many Flynns ( including 7 Johns) and a good number of Dohertys.

Hi Norma
I hope this might complement Roger's findings:
I had a look at Drumkeeran deaths for John Flynn on rootsireland and found one aged 41 died 18 Aug 1877 so born 1836. Address: Drumrouey Innishmagrath; married; farmer Present at death Thady Flynn from Drumrouey Don't think you mentioned any Thadys so maybe wrong one?
I notice that the marriage record you mentioned is from Kiltubrid so Bridget could have been from there. There is a baptism record for Bridget Doherty from Kiltoghert R C Parish (which is next to Kiltubrid) in 1840. Parents Pat Doherty & Mary Heslin.
I couldn't find a John Flynn birth/baptism in Drumkeeran at all so could he & Bridget moved there once married & he have been born nearby I wonder?

I wasn't sure about the Kiltubbrid marriage. Someone else had found that for me & I wasn't quite sure of the distance. Plus, I had the older brother Owen which would have been born prior to their marriage. So now I know that I can once again list Owen with both parents as we thought he was. I am not 100% on where John or Owen was born. The only reason we came up with Drumkeeran was because Ann Flynn Devitt travelled to Ireland in 1892 to handle business in "her home town". While there she gave birth to her son Patrick Francis Devitt. The birth record for Patrick Francis Devitt shows Drumkeeran, Leitrim. So we were just assuming that Owen & John were born their as well. I do know that on the 1910 US Census, it shows a Patrick Flynn living with Patrick Devitt & Ann Flynn Devitt. Patrick Flynn is listed as brother-in-law. However, Flynn is a common name. So I don't know if that Patrick Flynn is married to Patrick Devitt's sister & not really related to my Flynns or if he is another one of Ann's brothers. I have no other listing for him.

Couldn't find Ann,Owen or young John's birth records.
ancestry has lots of Ann Flynns born in or about 1865 in the passenger arrivals list.

Sorry for the lateness of this reply but i am only now seeing your posting. If Ann Flynn went to Drumkeeran to settle family business in 1892 it seems a probability that this might have involved sale of land or estate related business. You might check probate records or the Valuation Office Records to see if there was a transaction in or around Drumkeeran in 1892 that involved Ann Flynn. My grandfather b.1867 was John Flynn from Tawnahoney townland, Drumkeeran. He emigrated to the US in 1926 from Scotland. He was the only child of Hugh Flynn and Jane Waters. Her mother Bessie Doherty married Patrick Waters. Bessie was one of the Doherty,s from Geaglom townland and a descendant of Cornelius Doherty of Geaglom (Griffith's Valuation).
