I am searching for more informtion on James Allingham , my 2nd great grandfather who was born about 1805 in Ireland. He emigrated to Kingston Twp, Co Frontenac, Ontario Canada around 1824. The Kingston Newspaper stated there was a letter waiting for him in 1829. I believe James was born in Co Leitrim. One of James ' children thought James came from Sligo Town. James' married Eliza Jane Bruce (his neighbour) in Canada . The marriage record, death record, Canadian Census records do not indicate more than he was born in Ireland . His religion on the 1851 Cenus is recorded as English Church; in 1871 Presbyterian Methodist. James' children were named as follows:: Elizabeth Jane (1831) , James Jr, Margaret Mary, Mary, Thomas, Robert ,George, John, Letitia, Francis and Samuel (1858).. Letita and Samuel are most likely "Bruce" related names. A Francis Allingham , of Cregg, ( b. 5 April 1812 in Killasnet son of John Allingham(1776) and Jane ) m. Eliza Jane Johnston daughter of Edward Johnston in Drumcliff, Sligo 4 Dec 1847. Witnesses were Robert and Jane Allingham. Francis and Eliza Jane Allingham emigrated to Canada in 1851 and farmed in the same village as James Allingham. I believe he is somehow related. I could not find the birth of James(1805) in the Drumcliff or Cloonclate parish records. Francis (1812) baptism record above was in the Cloonclare parish record but not James as he was born before the Church was built. There is a Cloonclare baptism record for a Robert Allingham(1809) also son of John Allingham and Jane . John Allingham and Jane appear to have had otherchildren. John Aligam (1794), of SracreeghanGeorge Allingham (1796) of Sracreeghan , Thomas Allingham (1798) of Sracreeghan , Mary Allingham (1802). I think John Allingham (1776) may be the son of John Aligam/Allingham, (1743) Cooper of Sligo . I have a few DNA matches with a descendants of John (1776) and John (1743). I would like to establish the parents and grandparents of my James Allingham . i appreciate any suggestions for finding information on James. Thank you

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The only James Allingham baptismal record on the subscription site Roots Ireland around 1805 is the Donegal record from 1802 shown below.
This link https://www.ireland.anglican.org/cmsfiles/pdf/AboutUs/library/registers/ParishRegisters/PARISHREGISTERS.pdf provides the status of Church of Ireland parish registers. Killasnett is shown as having records destroyed in the 1922 fire but some records were later found and may be in the Representative Church Library in Dublin. You may want to contact the library. I believe they will eventually digitize their holdings.
Here is a link to the Tithe listings in Co. Leitrim with the surname Allingham. A good number of records in Killasnet parish. http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/results.jsp?surname=allingham&firstname=&county=Leitrim&townland=&parish=&search=Search&sort=&pageSize=&pager.offset=0

I am the 3rd gr grandson of Thomas Allingham (1798) of Sracreeghan and live in PA,US. I've been writing back and forth with someone in Canada who is a descendent of your James. We believe as you do that James and Thomas are brothers but cannot prove it. My DNA is on Ancestry (jackreidy), Gedmatch ( A628971 NYCjack) and FT DNA (J Reidy). After all these generations will we have enought DNA in common to match? I will also let my correspond know of your post.
