I recently learned one of my ancestors married a McTague in County Leitrim. If there are any McTague's out there who had an ancestor who married May or Mary Fox or Mary Anne Fox I would love to hear from you.

Mary:
Below is an 1866 civil marriage index record for a Mary Fox. One of the possible spouses was a James McTague. Part of Oughteragh civil parish was in the Bawnboy registration district. Do you think this record is for your Mary?

Yes, thank you. This is definetly my Mary. I found this record a couple of weeks ago and it opened up an entirely new line for me. I know Mary and James left Leitrim but I think they stayed in Ireland as the another record for her mother shows Anne McTeague was appointed to handle her affairs as she died intestate. I believe Anne and Mary are one and the same person but haven't found any records that show her name was Mary Anne Fox. Would love to know if there are still McTague's left in Ireland who are descended from Mary Fox, they would be my cousins.
