I am searching for any relative from Oughteragh, Leitrim.  My 2nd great-grandfather was Michael Fox, he married Rose, maiden name unknown.  The only child I know about was my great-grandfather, Hugh.  Hugh was born Jan 1838 and married Ellen Smith 9 Feb 1864 in the Roman Catholic Chapel of Ballinmore.  Ellen's parents were Patrick and Mary Smith, maiden name unknown.  Ellen was born in April 1838.  Hugh and Ellen had 5 children,  Mary, Patrick (my grandfather), James, Catherine and Annie (twins).  Patrick left Ireland in 1886 to join his father in Rhode Island, a few years later the rest of the family joined them in Providence, Rhode Island.  If anyone can help me with additional information on the Fox family or the Smith family it will be greatly appreciated.

    Perhaps in order to see if there are any relatives in Oughteragh you could try placing an advertisement  in a local newsletter of bulletin board?
