Hi,
I'm looking for my family, McSharry/Foley. My great great grandmother was Mary McSharry. I have absolutely no information on her except that she married my great great grandfather, Robert Pugh, in Kinlough in 1846 and they christened their first child, Mary in 1847 in Kinlough.
I lose them for almost 12 years when they pop up again in county Roscommon with a few more children.
My great great grandfather was a stone mason, so they moved and actually finally ended up in Sligo City Sligo where they stayed, had a few more children (including my great grandfather) and died there in 1892 (Mary) and 1899 (Robert).
Mary used both names on christening records for her children. She was either under McSharry or Foley.
I would love any information you could give me on them.
Thank you very much.

Hi,
Thank you for your message.
Have you found Mary and Robert's marriage certificate? Sometimes, if you are lucky, marriage certs sometimes record residences, occupations and father's names in addition to the names of couples and witnesses. If you haven't already found the marriage record it may be worthwhile looking for it.
The irishtimes website can be useful when you are searching for Catholic records as it gives an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. For Kinlough parish follow this link:
