The John S. Donnelly you are looking for might be John Saltwell Donnelly who is on familysearch at this url:

He was from Limerick and married in 1848 in Lowell, MA to Margaret Doherty. I discovered a similarity in names in this Donnelly with my Donnelly family who also originated in Limerick and have been able to confirm this John S. Donnelly was a son of John Donnelly and Elizabeth Graham. John Donnelly was a brother of my ancestor Edward Donnelly who is buried in the Hamilton Cemetery in Ontario, Canada. I am trying to trace my Donnellys further back....John and Edward were sons of Michael Donnelly and Elizabeth Dunne. I'm not sure if they lived in Limerick or Cork originally. If this is your John S. Donnelly I can provide you with the names of his siblings.
