Bridget Ryan DOB was 1831.  DOD was April 12, 1897.  Parents were Thomas Ryan and Johanna Ryan.  She married Cornelius Flannery (Co Tipperary) 1848-1849.

I will be in Ireland May 2016 so I am hoping to learn more.

I had a look on Rootsireland.ie but couldn't see a baptism for Bridget but there are a number of church marriage records for Thomas and Johanna. One of these takes place in 1830 and would fit with Bridget's DOB of 1831 (assuming it is correct). The couple were Thomas Ryan and Johanna Quinn, Lough, Pallasgreen, Limerick. The witnesses were Andrew Carroll and Julie Quinn and the wedding took place on 28th Jan 1830 - do these witness names mean anything to you?

If you have a look at rootsireland.ie there are a number of baptism records for children of Thomas Ryan and Judith Quinn - I wonder if they are one and the same, i.e. Judith and Johanna? The children were Dermot, Timothy, Sarah, John - have the names ever appeared in your family tree?

I am not entirely happy that this is the correct family but feel that the above marriage has potential. You may find that you have to undergo an information gathering exercise and record information, like those above so that if in the future when you are certain of a parish or pre-marriage name and other records become available that you can ascertain if the above is correct or rule them out entirely.

Let me know what you think!

    Best wishes
