My great-great-grandfather Denis Costello (Custolo) was born 18 January 1838, Kilmeany, Co. Kerry, the son of Denis Costello and Johanna Harnett. Denis and siblings, Bridget, Margaret, and Timothy, immigrated to the US in the 1850's. I have found Johanna Harnett's baptismal record (7 May 1812 - Abbeyfaele, Co. Limerick - parents Michael Harnett and Johanna) and the marriage record for Denis and Johanna (14 February 1830 - Abbeyfaele, Co. Limerick). Bridget was baptized in Abbeyfaele, but the 4 other children were all baptized in Moyvane - Timothy (1832), John (1833), Margaret (1834), and Denis (1838). I'm looking for any information on Denis and Johanna and son John.

Dear dollar51,
Costelloes listed for Knockanure, Listowel circa 1850 but no Kilmeaney
there is a John Costelloe listed at Kilmeaney today in land records. He may not be any relation but this is interesting.

I'm caught for time now, but let me know if this is of any interest.

Hi Martine
Me again!!
I just looked at that valuation website and I don't think it is very up to date, I looked at Cloghane and both my grandfathers are listed as owners. One of my grandfathers died in the 1970's and the other died in 2005. I wonder when was it recorded?
Thanks for sharing the website though, it is interesting!

Absolutely Sarah! But sometimes it is MORE helpful because the out of date names make finding a connection easier in terms of tracing descendents of people who went to America or Australia.
I'm not sure when it was created but a number of records I found were very useful.
Hope all is well with you.
