My great great grandparents were Thomas Driscoll and Mary McGuire who were married at Askeaton 15 February 1838. Thomas Driscoll was born before 1820, and presumably died in Ireland, perhaps1852-1858. A Thomas Driscoll is recorded in Griffith's Valuation c 1852, house and land 9 acres Townland of Ballysteen, tenant of Edmund Westrop. Mary McGuire Driscoll and her children emigrated to New York City in the mid 1860's, perhaps 11 May 1866 aboard ship Escort. They settled in Brooklyn. The eldest child, Bridget Driscoll was my great grandmother, who married William O'Neill of Rathkeal, perhaps in Ireland, but more likely in New York. Bridget was baptized at Askeaton 2 January 1839, godparents Thomas Murphy and Mary Murphy. She died in Brooklyn New York in 1892.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and sorry for the delayed response. Not sure if you are aware that the National Library of Ireland just placed the RC parish registers online. Here is the link for Askeaton http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0860
Records only go back to 1829 so you won't find the baptisms for Thomas and Mary but you may find records for other children besides Bridget.
