Per a DNA match, I know I'm related to Marianne Cashman (the earlier message concerning the Daltons).

My great grandmother, Mary Dalton, was born in Athea (Limerick -- not Tipperary!) in 1847; her parents, Thomas Dalton and Johanna Fitzgerald, were married in Abbeyfeale in 1846. Haven't been able to find when Mary left for the US -- she married a John Reagan (Clare? Cork?) over here. Any information on her family would be appreciated.

As far as I can tell, she lived in a cottage which still stands (but has been abandoned) southwest of Athea, south of Con Colbert Street Upper. I was able to take photos of the building on my last visit to Ireland.

Would love to see a photo!

I wanted to invite you to add your ancestor's details to our XO Chronicles. You can learn more about it HERE and it might be another avenue to consider so that your ancestor's details can be seen by others.

    Best wishes
