Hi

I am a decendent of Michael O'Connor and Hanorah Hastings. They were married 14 Feb 1836 in parish Dromin and Athlacca (I will cross post). They had 3 boys and 6 daughters as best I can find. They spent most of their time in Bruff.

Michael dies before 1901 Census, Hanorah is alive in House 38 Crawford Lane in 1901 with two children but has passed away by 1911.

1901 - son Joseph (aka Gerald Joseph) age 38 and Honara daughter age 50.

In 1911 still at same address - Honora is still single.

Joseph (listed as  Baker) has married Margaret (my best guess is Lynch) age 33 with 3 children - Nora age 2 and Michael age 3 and Joseph 9 months

I have much more but would love to connect with O'Connors, or people who think they might be connected here.

You can search the online Irish phonebook for O'Connors in Bruff for possible leads. Keep in mind that the phone book only has a small percentage of phone numbers. Make sure you search the Residential Tab rather than the Business Tab.

  • I am searching for Thomas O"KEEFFE (various spellings) who was born in Bruff 05 April 1842.His parents may have been Edmund and Bridget nee McMAHON.

When Thomas left school he worked as a Compositor, later went to Cork and joined the Militia.

He married in Kinsale, Cork to Catherine O>NEILL (again various spellings)on 01 June 1862. Her parents were Michael and Margaret nee WHITE.

They later emigrated to New Zealand via Australia.

My husband, Brian, is the Gr.Gr. Grandson of Thomas and Catherine.
Any information would be gladly accepted.

The baptismal records for Thomas and two siblings (twins) are below. I also provided a link to the 1850 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Bruff parish. There is an entry for an Edmund O'Keeffe.
