Have tracked down a early 19th century connection to the country town of Rossmore. My Great Great Grandfather Garrett Meade died there, one of this sons John Meade married a Jennie Sullivan and had their childern born there before leaving to join the extended family in Chicago. Finally my great grand father Michael Roach Meade's brother William returned to Rossmore with his childern ages 2 & 5. There is some disagreement as to whiether or not he stayed himself or left them there in 1905 returning to Chicago. Other names in the family are Roche, Boyle, Geary, & Lynch. The name Meade shows up in Rossmore tithing record before the famine. Would like to find out more about the estate, maybe make contact with the present owner to see if there are records available. Also what is the name of thr ruins located on top of the hill NW of Rossmore? John Meade

In 1911 there were 5 households in Rossmore (which is 231 acres in total). William and George (born America) were both evidently still there that year:

Same Meade family in 1901:
