My great grandfather was Michael Regan born in Churchtown May 1858/baptized 1 jun 1858. I know his parents were Patrick Regan and Mary Horgan. They were married in Churchtown 20 Jun 1853. 09 Patrick lists address as Charleville.
Their children were :
Denis - baptized 31 dec 1854 Churchtown address listed as Anna
David baptized 09 Aug 1856 Churchtown address listed as Anna
Michael baptized 1 jun 1858 Churchtown address is listed as Anna
Honora baptized 26 Dec 1858 Charleville
Timothy Regan baptized 27 April 1862 Charleville
Margaret Regan baptized 4 May 1864 Charleville
Patrick Regan baptized 29 May 1867 Charleville
Bridget Regan baptized 09 Jul 1869 Charleville
Corns (Cornelius) baptized 10 Dec 1870 address given as Buttevant
I believe based on subsequent records that Honora/Timothy/Bridget may have died in infancy/childhood but no death certs.
I know that David emigrated to US in 1874 and Mary and children Denis/Michael/Margaret/Patrick/Cornelius all emigrated in July 1881. I cannot find any record for Patrick.
Based on children names I think Patrick's parents might be Denis Regan and Honora Morony of Charleville but havent found records to confirm.
Would love to know if there are any Regans still in the Churchtown/Charleville area. I was there 2 years ago but unfortunately were not able to find any but did not have a lot of time either.
Thank you

Hi Joanne,
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out, my name is Anne Marie and I am the Ireland XO parish liaison for Churchtown.
Currently there is no Regan or O' Regan family in Churchtown, there are some in the nearby town of Buttevant who also have relations in Mallow Co.Cork, at one stage (1911) there were 5 families in Churchtown but none of them living in the townland of Annagh anymore
The only baptism I can find is the one for a Patrick Regan baptised 27 November 1836 in Charleville, parents Patrick Regan and Johanna Condon, the problem is that a marriage records states the address at the time of the marriage it does not always mean the person is also born there.

Thank you Anne Marie, when I stopped 2 years ago into the convenience store they didn't know of any Regan families in the Churchtown area either. I will try Buttevant. I see on the Churchtown website about a Michael J Regan who was killed in the First World War. I was wondering if possibly a relative since that is a big name in our family. Do you know anything about his family?
Again thank you
Joanne
