Apologies for the delay coming back to you.  Are you aware of the Fimia family website?  Maggie Fimia who owns it has Daly connections.  You will find some information and pictures there including some of John Daly, Rebecca Berminganm & family.

Hi Tim, thank you for your reply, yes i have seen photos on Maggies website of my paternal grandparents that i had never seen before, i just can't seem to find out who James Daly's parents were( James 1800 -1870 )  he was married to Mary Valence. would there be any parish records saying where they lived etc ? Thank you Robin.

Unfortunately there are no parish records earlier than 1853.  Nobody knows what happened the earlier ones which were lost in the 1920's.  The earliest record is the Tithe Applotments of 1831 but that only shows that James Daly already lived in Darraghmore at that point. It gives no family information.
