My maternal grandparents were Timothy Peter O'Donovan (b. 1889) of Knockaderagh and Mary Josephine O'Sullivan (b. 1886) of Newcastle West. His parents were John O'Donovan and Ellen O'Sullivan. Hers were Owen (Eoghan?) O'Sullivan and Catherine O'Shea. My mother's parents were first cousins and married in Jersey City, New Jersey in 1913. Timothy left Ireland in 1911. I believe that Mary (Pol was her nickname) arrived earlier. She had a brother named, Richard, and a half-sister, Margaret Hough. There was a Kitty Shanahan referred to as, Aunt Kitty, and a cousin, Michael O'Shea (now deceased) who ran a creamery. The only surviving child of Timothy and Mary is 93 and lives in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. There were six O'Donovan children born between 1914 and 1924 - all in Jersey City, NJ.

Not sure what info, you are looking for or just posting your family connections. I searched the 1901 and 1911 censuses and finally found the family. They lived in Knockaderry townland. Further complicating the search was that in 1901 Timothy was written as Thimothy on the record. See below links. Timothy was still in Ireland on March 31st 1911 when the census was taken so he must have left later in the year. The 1911 census showed that Ellen has nine childen but only five were living in 1911. NOTE in 1901 the father in law Owen Sullivan was living with the family.
I also linked the civil birth record for Timothy.
I was unable to find the O'Sullivan family in the censuses but I'm sure they are there.

I don’t know if this information will help, but my great grandmother’s name was Catherine O’Shea from Glin Co. Limerick. She married Michael Wallace and has four children, one being my Grandmother, Ellen born in 1883. Catherine died shortly after giving birth to a son named David. Kind regards, Paul M. Donovan

Hello Paul, I have just picked up on some old requests to Irelandxo and notice that you did receive material etc. from Roger, I am not sure whether you got anything on Catherine O'Brien so herewith details of the marriage to Michael Wallace - it was Jan 1878 the data is Vol5 Pg 275 and fhl No. 101253. Details you should be able to find however in the National Library of Ireland for free. The marriage took place in Glin, Limerick however if you are searching look BOTH in Glin, Limerick AND in Glin, Kerry as both hold records of villages in and aroung. I am not sure but I think that Catherine could be the daughter of Catherine Enright and would have been born to Enright and O'Brien in 1856 and baptized in Loughill, which is as near to Glin as one could be. There is another Catherina (with an a) in the same area but I have my doubts however it is for you to investigate and make up your own mind.
