I am trying to find info on my great great grandfather Thomas O'Brien. I am told he was a doctor in Hospital. Married to Honora Bresnahan. They had a son Thomas who left after involvement with the Fenians in 1860s. I can locate Thomas in America, but I think he left a light trail to follow back to Ireland because he was wanted by the British. Any help is appreciated. Mike O'Brien

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Below is the 1846 marriage record for Thomas and Honora. Also below is the 1851 baptismal record for Thomas Jr. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0268mas He also had a sister Ellen 1849, Maurice 1853 and William 1856. All in Hospital RC parish. There may be other children after 1856. Here is the link for the parish register for Hospital. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0268 The 1850 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Hospital civil parish shows a Thomas O'Brien in Millfarm townland. Possibly this is the senior Thomas.

These all look promising. O'Brien being a popular name it is tough to narrow things down. I really appreciate the time and effort. I have not been able to get before the Fenian troubles of the 1860 so this is a lead I am excited about.
