My g-g-grandfather, Thomas McMahon, born ca. 1797, Kildimo, Limerick married Mary McDonald, born ca. 1811 in Limerick around 1829. They had at least 2 children born in Ireland, John Thomas McMahon born 1829 and James born 1832. They came to Crysler, Ontario, Canada, about 1833 where more children were born. If anyone could find out more of the family history in Limerick I would be very interested. Thank you.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out! I checked the Tithe Applotment listings for Kildimo civil parish (1825) and located a record for a Thomas McMahon in Glennamead townland. He was leasing 13 acres of land. Possibly this is your ancestor.

I also checked Roots ireland. I assume your family was RC. Kildimo RC records start in 1831, however, when I searched for James McMahon father Thomas and mother Mary McDonald, I got no record. I also did not find a Thomas McMahon/Mary McDonald marriage record for the period 1824-1834 in Co. Limerick.

Thanks so much for your prompt reply. Could they perhaps have married In a neighbouring county? I will continue searching this end for more possibilities.
