Michael was born the year before civil registration started in Ireland. I did check the 1850 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kildimo parish and there were three Houragans listed for Court townland: John, James and Thomas. Not sure how they were related to Michael. I also checked the 1901 census and there were two Hourigan families living in Court. One headed by a 70 year old John and the other headed by a 40 year old John.

  • Dear Cook,

There is still a Hourigan family living in Court, Kildimo at this time, are you aware of this family. Do you have the name of Michael Frances parents.  If you post a message to the board I can get more information for you locally.  I look forward to hearing for you in due course.

  • Hi Mary

Just logged again and saw your reply.

    Michael Francis Hourigan - parents

    John Hourigan 1823 - 1913 and Mary O'Brien 1839 - 1912.

I believe that the Hourigan family still living at Kildimoare related somehow.

    Thanks

    Deb
