  • Hello Lyn,

You don't actually post a query so I am not too sure for whom or what you are looking.  However I went ot www.rootsireland.ie and performed a search for marriage and children of the above.

I found the marrige record for John Baker Kilfinane., Nailor, son of William Baker  to Henrietta Casey,Kilfinane, schoolteacher, daughter of Patrick Casey in roman catholic church on 8 Novemver 1866.

The following are the children born to this couple...

    William      29 Jan 1868

    Mary         11 Sept 1869

    Thomas     09 Apr 1871

    Patrick       19 Jan 1873

    John           24 Apr 1875

    Michael       15 Jan 1877

    Margaret      06 Dec 1878

    John Thomas 09 Jun 1882

    Henietta       01 Jan 1885

    Maryanne     01 May 1888

I hope this helps you in your research.  All these records can be viewed free on www.nli.ie.  Click on family history and then view the catholic parish registers.  You are looking for the parish of Klfinane.

    Kind regards,

    Anne Dennehy

  • Thanks Anne, I have all that - it wasn't a query, I was posting my interests in case someone else is researching the same family so we could perhaps exchange research/information  - they won't know if I don't say. :) Probably the thing I would be querying, if anything, is the first name of the O'Grady married to Patrick Casey as above.

    Hi Lyn,

I am new to this site so I may hacve doubled up on this post. I am trying to find a connection to my Gr Gr Gr Grandfather John Casey who was in Kilfinane in 1880. He was probably born C1815. His wife was Ellen Ryan. Do you have any links to him. I have a photo of a grave in Kilfinane that has their names on it but I don't know if it is theirs.

    Regards

  • Hi Larry, Unfortunately I am not that far back as I seem to have reached a brick wall. I looked at your gravestone photo - it looks like a very recent headstone to me and the relationships are very unclear. regards Lyn

  • Thanks Patrick. My Henrietta was born c 1838 and her mother was said to be an O'Grady so perhaps the one you have is a cousin or else Hennessy is a previous marriage or vice versa. While Patrick is a family name, Maria is not so I suspect she is not my Henrietta.

  • Thanks Lyn, Yes I agree it does look like a recent headstone. Its a pity they didn't put any dates on it.

    Regards
