Following are are all the records I have for John Matthews: (The 1851 census "attachments" is probably NOT for the John Matthews I am researching as all the Matthews on the 1851 census are Roman Catholic - however, John could have converted upon marrying?)
1st record found: 1871 Census of New Brunswick, Canada
Province of New Brunswick. District of Westmoreland & sub-district of Moncton.
John Matthews - age 36 - born Ireland - a farmer
Jane (Kincaid) - age 35 - born New Brunswick as are the 2 girls
Elizabeth - age 3
Isabella - age 10 monthsChurch of England. William Matthews, age 38 is also listed with the family - John's brother?
2nd record found: 1881 Census - New Brunswick, District of Westmoreland, Moncton Parish.
BIG MISTAKE HERE?? - JOHN & JANE ARE ABT. THE SAME AGES AS ARE LISTED 10 YEARS AGO IN THE 1871 CENSUS!!

John 51 - born Ireland - a farmer - Methodist
Jane 49 - born New Brunswick as are all their children, Jane's parents were born in Ireland.
