Hello, I'm hoping to find living relatives in Limerick. My grandfather was John Rainsford, born March 4, 1881 in Cappanahanagh. His parents were John Rainsford and Johanna O'Meara. My grandfather moved to Chicago in 1925.

Hi Kim, there are Rainsford's still in the area. There were only 14 families of them in Co Limerick in Griffiths valuation . Most of them in Abington. If you check the headstone inscriptions for Stradbally Castleconnell on www.historicgraves,i.e. there are Rainsfords buried there.

Hi I am Kim's Cousin Vince Rainsford and literally stumbled upon this today. This information is great to know and glad that this site exists. Maybe I can make the trip with my family someday to explore our past and meet some good people there.
