Hi I m looking for the parents of John Hayes and Mary Hartnedy married in Murroe/Boher 1833 both were from Murroe village I think. Both Hayes and Hartnedy appear in the Griffiths Valuation for Murroe Village. John Hayes worked for the Barringtons probably as a gamekeeper.
Also I m looking for the siblings of Eliza Maguire born to James Maguire and Anne Gleeson of Murroe I think around 1813?
Any links between Hayes s and Foley s in Murroe during the latter 1800s are of interest to me too as John Hayes Jnr (1847 ) born to the above and Nora Foley from Murroe village circa 1901 and 1911 census were related though we cannot discover how ?
Regards
James

Hey James,
The only John Hayes I found in Murroe was in 1819 , so i would think he would be a bit young to be getting married in 1833 similarly for Mary Hartnedy the earliest one i found was 1823 .I wIould say they were probably born before the records started in Murroe.
I found two children to James Maguire and Anne Gleeson,
- Eliza b 12 Jan 1813 - sp Conor Hickey and ----------------------
- Mary b 06 Apr 1816 sp Mary Gleeson and -----------------------
as above i would say theywould have had more children previous to when the records started.
I had a look at the census for Nora Foley , i found her on the 1911 with a border in the Murroe Village , is this the right one ??, If so she would be born ~ 1851 i only found one Hanora Foley b 14 Aug 1850 to Edmund and Margaret Slattery sp Patrick and Margaret Foley. They Also had eight other children
I didnt find any Link between the Hayes and Foley in the late 1800's . MAybe there is a link somewhere else in the family?
Hope this helps somebit

Hi Aine, thanks a lot for your time and effort. Yes I agree you are probably right about the Hayes/Hartnedy and the beginning of records, its a pity really that things have to come to a dead end there?
Nora Foley was still alive back around the 1930s she was very old then and apparently a fair old character! Yes that is her in the 1911 census. She also appears in the 1901 census but there is an age discrepancy between the two census s which was common back then.My eldest remaining Uncle remembers her when he was very young going to school and she always asked after his grandfather John Hayes (b 1847} to John Hayes and Mary Hartnedy. Nora said they were cousins but no-one can figure out the link?
The Eliza Maguire born to James Maguire and Anne Gleeson was my Great Great Grandmother. Her death cert has her aged 97 in 1910. Her daughter Ellen Fitzgerald married the John Hayes (1847)above, my Great Grandparents.Their last child was Larry Hayes b1895 my Grandfather who incidentally married another Anne Gleeson! Not related to the original as far as I know?
Thanks again
James
