  • It may be helpful to know that the two siblings before Thomas were born in Rathina ( John Thomas in 1893 and James in 1896) and this Hanley family can be found on the 1901 census at Gortboy. Rathina and Gortboy appear to be townlands of Newcastle West - not sure whether my terminology is correct here! Thanks, Alan

  • Alan:

The townland was Cloonyscrehane in Monagay civil parish. It is locate about.8 miles southeast of Newcastle West village off the R522 road.
