Thank you for your response. Unfortunately I cannot find any trace on my great grandfather William Keaty born Aprox 1960 listed as Limerick on many documents. I think the birth records are no longer? My great grandfather William married Margaret Regan in 1888 and on the wedding certificate his father is listed as Michael Keaty, dead and a Railway Milesman?. My William died in Cork in 1929. William's son Michael is my grandfather and moved to Chicago in 1912. When my grandfather arrived he stayed with an Uncle Michael Keaty who came from Limerick and was born in 1855 (thinking it's William's brother?) Uncle Michael Keaty's Death Certificate in Chicago in 1935 lists his parents as Michael Keaty and Mary Mclnerney both from Limerick?
The Michael Keaty that died in 1873 is listed as a Laborer, would that be the same as a Railway Milesman?
The other Michael Keaty death in 1870 is listed at ENNISTYMON but there is no certificate.
There is a Mary Keaty who died in 1879 in ENNISTYMON but she was married to a farmer.
Again, thanks to all who can shed some light? Am really interested in finding a Keaty from Limerick that is a documented relative

Ok,
this one
The other Michael Keaty death in 1870 is listed at ENNISTYMON but there is no certificate.
If you follow the link you would have to pay it about 5 Euro. to get the record, you don't need the certificate just for information.
This one

Sadly they just put Labourer.Michael who went to the USA I found a birth record 25th February 1855, McNamara was the mothers maiden name.
I have attached the record.........right hand page.I see the death record in 1935 yes it says McInerney
I see the marriage of Michael and Catherine as McNamara this is in Dromlara where I found the other information.
See the attached, 3rd September 1848.
I have to go out soon, but I will look for other births.

I very much appreciate your time and help. I do believe that the Michael Keaty my grandfather lived with in Chicago and called Uncle was the Michael Keaty from 1855. His father Michael married Catherine and had several children but none of them listed are William? Also, looking back at some info, Michael keaty (1827-1873) is listed in Griffith’s as living next to a railway company. I want to believe that this is William’s family but I have no concrete proof.
Something is strange about no concrete info regarding Williams birth or family!?! Everything leads to this family but he is nowhere to be found. Been searching over 20 years, maybe someday? I have everything After he got to Waterford/Cork but nothing before in Limerick
Again, thanks 🙏Robert Keaty

I see a Marriage in 1888. William is a Constable.
he has a son William in 1900. Is this correct? On the Griffiths Valuation in Dromlarra there is a Matthew Keaty....... is he related to you?

Yes, that’s my William. One of his sons was William (he moved to Plymouth England).
When my grandfather Michael arrived in Boston, the arrival papers mentioned his Uncle Mathew living in Boston. Although both last names were written wrong as Keating?
On the Griffiths I mentioned earlier, Michael And Mathew Keaty we’re living next to each other near Railway. I assume a relation to a Mathew Keaty existsRobert keaty

There is a Matthew Keaty born 1857. if you look in sites it does say his mother is Catherine McNamara, but, his father was Richard Keaty, so be careful if you find this. If you see a record in the sites take the information and go to the Ireland Church records and check as this does happen quite a lot. This Mathew had a son William and he went to the USA.
I am still searching for William's birth (the father of William jnr.)
That Mathew Keaty passes on in 1874, Dromlarra. he must have been related.Margot

Yes, I have come across that Matthew Keaty (1857). I’ve learned not to believe everything at first glance.
Thank YouRobert keaty
