Looking for descendants of James Neville and Johanna (Whalen) Neville.  My great grandmother Elizabeth Neville immigrated to NY at age 16/17 in 1909 from Rathkeale. Her parents and some siblings stayed behind. Siblings were Ellen(Nellie) Cate (Catherine) Thomas, Patrick.  Maybe more.

Below are the 1901 and 1911 census records for the family. The 1911 census indicated that there were 12 children and they were all living in 1911. Also, Elizabeth may have been closer to 22 when she emigrated in 1909 if the age in the 1901 census is accurate.

  • not sure how this fits, but think it must somewhere along the line. my maiden name is gleeson. my auntie was anastacia gleeson. (stacia) she married jack neville, they lived in askeaton and worked for duffy circus. i have a cousin charlotte (their daughter) living in birminham england. cha (charlotte) often talked about an aunt johanna and i met another, aunt nellie. i think these are family names that have been passed down to children as this was common pratice of the day. cha has a sister in dublin, who also worked for duffy circus. cha and i have cousins in rathkeale, askeaton, drumcullough and ballybunion. maybe cha is related to one of the siblings left behind.
