Hi, I am working with another lady here in Kansas City Missouri. We are working on Con Scanlan who married Mary Scanlon 11 Feb 1860. They lived in the townland of Upper Athea. There children were:
Patrick born 1861,
John born 1863,
Michael born 1864,
Timothy born 1869,
Timothy born 1869,
Mary born 1871,
Edward born 1874(who moved to Kansas City)
Helen born 1875,
John born 1877, Con born 1880
Thomas born 1883.
Only one child Edmund/Edward born 1864 immigrated to the US that we know of. We would like to find the parents of Con Scanlan. We know that Con lived in Upper Athea - we found several Scanlans in Griffith's Valuation. Any additonal information on the children of Con & Mary Scanlan would also be appreciated.
Thank you very much,
Barbara Scanlon

Hi Barbara
I couldn't find the marriage record on www.rootsireland.ie/ to check for Con's parents' names.
There are 9 baptisms of Cornelius Scanlan in Limerick 1820 to 1846 but only one is from Athea
It is 1846? making him only 14 when married but there were inaccuracies in the records
Parents are Cornelius Scanlan & Catherine Foran Denom R C
There are baptism records from Athena for Patrick Scanlan & Mary Dalton but none for Cornelius & Mary Dalton.
