Hello, I have some family I have traced back to Dundalk.  If anyone has any additional information on these people or knows of living relatives, please do let me know.  My family is coming to Ireland Spring of 2018 and it would be great to have more details regarding this part of my family regarding where they lived or if there is any living relatives still in the area.

3xGG = Margaret Byrnes b.1801 Dundalk - d.1880 in Westport, Ontario

4xGG = Margaret's parents:  Brian Byrnes (b. Dundalk) & Bridget Trainor

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

    Here is a link to the RC parish register for Dundalk http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0216  and they have records from 1790-1802 and then the baptismal records pick up in 1814. The Dundalk records are on Roots Ireland and I searched but did not find the baptismal record for Margaret or the marriage record for the parents.  Maybe if you scan the register, you might locate a record or possibly they were in another parish that does not have reoords back to 1800.

    I did not locate Brian in the 1833 Tithe listings for Dundalk.

    The 1854 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for the parish shows a good number of Byrne and Trainor records in the parish.  http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/louth/dundalk.htm

    It will be very difficult to locate possible relatives in the area now.They would be likely 4th or 5th cousins. Have you taken an autosomal DNA test?
