This is in answer to a message from Sue Collilns.
I have seen your message on this site. I believe you have previously been in contact with our Sommerwill website which is monitored by my sister Liz and if you revisit this site you will see a lot of recently updated information. Shortly before our trip to Ireland I found that Margaret wasn’t born Fairfield, just one of the problems in finding her. Another is that she alternates the spelling of her first name as well as mis-spelling of her surname.
In the last few days I have found more info on Margaret and John which has yet to be put to our site. Apparently these two had two more births – this time registered in Armagh! These are James - 23 July 1843 and Mary 23 Feb 1845. There is another possible – Margaret 1841 but I have yet to check it from microfilm. This is also registered in Armagh! I was ready to assume that maybe these babies experienced infantile deaths but on trying to find what happened to Margaret after John’s death (the presumed death cert would appear to be incorrect) I have found details which indicate that Margaret was living with her child Mary. Speculative at this stage.
All this info should help you on your way. Information on Henry’s war history is presently coming through but I have yet to investigate Ann and any info on her would be really appreciated. You imply you are from Thomas’s line and if so I would appreciate sharing info. My details seem to indicate he had a roving nature and not ideal husband material!

Hi Yve
in case you are misled Dundallk is in County Louth but in the diocese of Armagh which is of course a separate city and county but a single church division.
Fairfield is not a common name and there are a number in this site on Louth Genealogy.
See http://www.jbhall.freeservers.com/
I looked for your website but to no avail and wonder if you would mind posting it.
Thanks
