Hi Alice,
Thank you very much for your message. I hope that someone recognises the family and is able to give you some assistance.
In the meantime, have you tried looking for the family name in the land records pertaining to Ireland in the 19th century? Here are the Keenans recorded in the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38):
Here are the Keenans in the later Griffith?s Valuation (1848-64):
You could also check for Keenans in the 1901/1911 census records:

Have you tried looking at church records in Dunleer for more information? You may be able to find some connections or family members that you don't already know of by looking at those listed as witnesses or sponsors on wedding/baptism certs. Most Catholic records are held locally so you may need to write to the local parish priest for possible assistance. One website that you may find useful is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. It also shows you where copies of the records are available. For Dunleer parish, follow this link:

Hi Alice,
I have a Dunleer connection to the Keenan family name. There were some McCabes living in a Keenan house in Liverpool in the 1911 Englad census. Patrick Keenan and his wife Bridget were from Dunleer, in Co. Louth, Ireland. There was a Peter McCabe and a Luke McCabe, both from Dunleer, living in the same house. I believe the 2 McCabes in that 1911 Keenan household are descended from my ggg grandfather, a John McCabe, who was living in the townland of Cookspark, in Mosstown parish, in Co. Louth, in the late 1700s and early 1800s.

Hi Alice...
I'm pretty sure we must be related. Mary Kanally Keenan was my great, great grandmother. Attached is a picture of her gravestone in Filmore County, MN. I have a lot of detail as to the Keenans, and lots of stories about my branch. Not sure what the best way for us to connect, but go to Google, and put in my nik name "Buzz" and the word "Seattle" and there are lots of links.
I would love to share the information that I have.
