there are a number of subscription sites for births etc. they are http://www.rootsireland.ie and
http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/ also My Ancestry.
in the 1850s a survey was done on landlords and tenants. It is here http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml?action=nameS… Duffy is more common than Cook but Cooke returns more but still not as many as Duffy. The site also gives a little location map.

the census for 1901 and 1911 is here http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie and maybe siblings on it.
Louth is in the diocese of Armagh for religious admin purposes. Parts of it border Meath.
