Hello Michael, welcome to Ireland XO, it is unlikely that your query will be pick up on this site but it has happened, we do not locate living people and I am the nearest volunteer living about 20 miles away in Drogheda.

There is a facebook page Louth Genealogy, apply to join and ask if there are any Flanagans etc and hopefully find a relative. 

By chance another query came in recently about the Kilsaran graveyard and I attach two photos, one of the church and the other to the right of the door as you go in the entrance to the old section of the graveyard. 

About 1903 there was a book written on the History of Kilsaran Union of Parishes, it was republished in 1988 I think, however it is available free on google books if you are interested.

Feel free to ask about records etc if you so wish.

Michael, some things occurred to me now that you mentioned you are visiting, searching your grandfather is fairly recent in the sceme of genealogy and oddly there was a gentleman here in the last couple of months looking for his grandfather in Kilsaran, hence the photos as I looked for the grave. Just wondered if it a coincidence or if maybe they left together, his name was Hoey and I think he went or his family went to Mass. possibly Boston but he lives elsewhere now.This is a link to his query. https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/message-board/matthew-hoey-and-sarah-hoey-nee-marley-sea-road

Also as luck would have it I met a local Flanagan who told me there is a lot of Flanagan info here, includes a Flanagan family tree, the area is about 8 to 10 miles from Kilsaran, http://www.termonfeckinhistory.ie/ includes graves and marriages etc

There is a Louth site here, http://jbhall.clahs.ie/ plenty of Flanagans also.

Also in 1937/38 school kids all over Ireland brought in stories from their families for a national collection which is now in the process of being put online, Kilsaran school is on line and you can search it if interested for family stuff, the original copy pages are there. https://www.duchas.ie/en/cbes I do not see any Flanagan on it at this point in Louth, some mention of Kilsaran though.

Also about 5 miles south is a personal favourite of mine as a place to see, on the tourist maps but not one that jumps out, it is a rural location and entry if free but donations are acceptted by the local, not everyones cup of tea but the crosses are 1,000 year old and have biblical stories carved into them, there are of course more up to date places with coffee etc if preferred, http://www.discoverboynevalley.ie/boyne-valley-drive/heritage-sites/monasterboice-finest-high-cross-ireland It is just an old graveyard that is still in use with the old crosses..

If driving down (north) on the M1 motor way (freeeway) exit 14 (I think) is Castlebellingham, and into the village turn right and go back south for about a mile and the church and graveyard are on your right a set back off the road.

In the book I previously mentioned there is an 1837 census and in Williamstown and Bolis (townlands I assume, can send a site to check there location if you are interested) there is a Bryan Bride and then a widow and John Bride. No Flanagans that I saw. 

On the Castlebellingham War memorial (Castlebellingham and Kilsaran are adjoing towns or villages but impossible to see  where one ends and another begins) there is one Flanagan but born in Ardee about 8 miles away and also a Bride but no other info except Kings Liverpool Regiment.

Louth, Margaret Flanagan, of Drogheda; husband of Edith Flanagan, of Drogheda Louth. Resident Ardee. Enlisted Dundalk. N. 31. Kemmel Chateau Military Cemetery - Heuvelland, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. CWM, DWM, SDGW) Awarded a 1915 Star, on active service in France on 19 Dec. 1915, also a Victory Medal and British War Medal. (UK National Archives WO/372/7) 1911 Census: At house 15, Drogheda Road, Ardee, James Flanagan head of family, age 37, Roman Catholic, born Louth, occupation hairdresser; wife Edith Flanagan age 37, born England; son Joseph age 14, born England; daughter Beatrice Mary age 12, born England, occupation scholar; daughter Margaret age 8, born England, occupation scholar; son James age 5, born England; son Ernest age 3, born England; son Christopher age 7 months, born Louth. All Roman Catholic.
