I am looking for relatives of Patrick and Margaret (Vesey) Gallagher. They are on the 1901 and 1911 census in Tonatanvally. Their children were Sally, Margaret (my grandmother), Catherine, Celia, Honor, Patrick, and Annie. Patrick was born c. 1844, and Margaret Vesey was born c. 1860. I know I still have cousins, some of whom live on Achill.

I hope you have had the opportunity to visit Achill or that you do so in the future as it is a stunningly beautiful area.
Unfortunatley we don't often get family members psoting messages on the site offering to be contacted by relatives but we have had some success through people writing to family members whose addresses are available in the irish phone book.
If you write a simple letter which includes the info you've given above and include your contact details and make lots of copies you can mail it to the Gallaghers in Achill whose addresses you'll find here: http://www.118.ie/. It's a site called 11850; select name search then enter Gallagher Achill & you'll find 39 of them.
There is also a clan Gallagher at http://www.gallagherclan.org/ which may be able to put you in contact with Achill family members.
I had a look for birth & marriage records for Patrick & Margaret on www.rootsireland.ie/ but couldn't find them in the Achill parish listings.
