I'm looking for information regarding Daniel Henry (a tailor) who married Bridget Swanick (Swannick). They were in the Carrowjames and Balla area. Their children included Michael. I believe the family went to Ashton-Under-Lyne for work. Michael married Mary Ann Noone (from Galway) and they had 3 children before arriving in the US in 1871. Thank you!

Hi WyAnnie,
Thank you for getting in touch! I will research the Henry & Swanick family, and get back to you as soon as I get the information. Do you have anything specific you would like to find out?
Kind regards, Kathryn

Hi WyAnnie,
As of yet I have found no records of either Daniel or Bridget, unfortunately the earliest Census records Ireland have are 1901 & 1911. Do you have any other specific dates regarding births or marriages?
I am to check the Parish records on Tuesday and I will get back to you then with my findings.
Kind Regards,
Kathryn

Kathryn,
Thank you so very much for responding. I am gathering this information with a bit of pressure. My mother's health is failing and I want to make sure we know about her family.
A wonderful gentleman in Ireland helped me with this information. Bridget Swanick and Daniel Henry married 2 July 1821. The lived in Carrowjames and had 3 or 4 children.
1-Richard baptised 15 February 1840
2-Michael baptised 27 August 1842 (My mother's grandfather)
3-John (Henery) baptised 11 March 1846
(4) We know they had one other child, Mary, who was not in the records that he had found. Mary and her husband, Thomas Gorman, were living with the family in England and later came to the US.
The family went to England, Lancashire, Ashton-Under-Lyne to work before they came to the US.
I would like to know:
1--The names of Daniel's and Bridget's parents
2--Could I get a copy of Michael's baptismal record?
3--we heard Daniel was a tailor.....is there any info. on that?
4--what did Bridget's father do for a living?
5--I guess we need to know about the conditions/environment at that time.
6--Is it possible that Mary's mother wasn't Catholic and so Mary was baptised and raised in the mother's church?
I have quite a large wish list. I would be thrilled with any of the information.
Bless you for helping me.
