I am visiting Ireland later this month, and am stopping near Castlebar, the area of Errew,in Co Mayo, to try to find out something about my great-great-great grandmother, Rose Martin. Yours is the "parish" closest to that area, so I'm hoping someone might be able to help. She was born about 1825 and emigrated to the USA. She married Andrew Dolan in 1848. That's interesting you suggested Co. Meath instead of Mayo. What led you to that as an option? Andrew Dolan gave Eyrecourt as his home in Co. Galway. We've visited both Errew area on Lough Conn and Clonfert area near Eyrecourt on this trip. Still no definitive link because of the lack of birth records in the 1820s. But if she came from Co. Meath, that would be another story.
